Species sensitivity
Some sprays containing synthetic insecticides like permethrin are toxic to cats always check the label for species restrictions

Wound cleaning first
Before spraying clean the wound with saline or clean water and remove debris or dead tissue

Clip fur
Trim hair around the wound to allow better spray penetration and easier inspection

Avoid ingestion or inhalation
Prevent the pet from licking the sprayed area until dry

Frequency
Usually applied one to two times per day or as directed on the label or by a veterinarian

Severe cases
If maggot infestation is deep involves internal tissue or the wound is large or bleeding heavily consult a veterinarian immediate treatment may require surgical cleaning and medicine

Check underlying causes
Maggots often occur if the wound is left untreated for some time due to a dirty environment or weak immunity keep the surroundings clean and maintain good hygiene

Observe for side effects
Watch for irritation swelling excessive pain or allergic reaction if any of these appear stop use and contact a veterinarian
